SPEAKERS

Rev. Chuck Emerson
ELI’s mission is to equip under-resourced leaders, primarily pastors in the Global South. They provide training in Bible, theology, and practical ministry, with the goal of multiplying leaders (a train-the-trainer strategy) to accomplish this mission.

Chuck’s current ELI work focuses on India and South America. He makes multiple trips each year, training church leaders. These church leaders are spreading the Gospel and planting new churches where the name of Christ has not been heard.

Recently, Chuck has been implementing database tools and an internal ELI website for some 80 ELI staff.

Chuck is a familiar face to many of us at ECPC, as his family became members in 1992. Chuck is a former Elder, and Debbie are assisting with the PCA church plant in Tucker, which began in 2020.

Rev. Jim Richter
Jim is a native of Birmingham and Dothan, Alabama. He attended Auburn University, where he became a follower of Christ through the ministry of the Navigators, met his wife Linda, and obtained 2 degrees in civil engineering.

Jim and Linda have a commitment to Christ’s great commission. They served as the MTW Pastoral Associates Couple for the MTW team in Kyiv, Ukraine from 2013-2018, visiting Ukraine several times. Jim served for 10 years on the PCA’s MTW committee. He encouraged missions support in his congregations, and participated in short-term mission trips to Queretaro, Mexico, Fairmont, WV, and Cherokee. NC. Jim served on the Board of Directors of Missions Safety International, a ministry that promotes mission aviation safety and effectiveness around the world.

When Jim retired, he and Linda moved to Lookout Mountain TN, where they attend Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church. He tries to grow a garden and keep bees, while serving as a mentor at Walker State Prison, helping as a guest preacher in area churches, and being Chairman of the Tennessee Valley Presbytery’s MTW committee.

Roy
Roy and Carole are both Georgia Tech graduates and have been involved in church planting and intense evangelistic efforts in parts of the world where Christianity is not welcomed. They spent 27 years in that area, now Roy oversees 3 church planting teams in 3 different countries. He also visits various mission teams on the field.

Roy’s ministry goal is to “with love and respect, invite all non-Christian peoples to follow Jesus, prioritizing those with the least access to the Gospel”. He trains teams in using storytelling for evangelism and discipleship, a key needed skill, and in preparing for persecution, a major issue in all the non-Christian countries where he trains. These teams are multinational.

Due to health issues, Carole is now based in the Atlanta area. She resources missionaries online and is involved in helping new workers learn language. Roy and Carole have 4 grown children in 3 states, and will soon have 11 grandchildren.

Dr G
Dr. G works with an evangelical ministry group whose goal is to reach the unreached peoples in India with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The ministry spearheads establishing and supporting local churches through training pastors and Biblical teachers who will serve their local communities.

The ministry also reaches out to children. In India, around 450 million children grow up worshiping idols as gods and goddesses. The ministry maintains and supports orphanages and local Bible-based schools. Training is held for local Christians who will witness to and teach the children in their villages. In recent years, Sunday School Teachers Training has been held with over 100 participants.

Christians in India are facing increasing government resistance and persecution. Pastors and their families, and church members are in danger of bodily harm, arrest, and severe punishment. Dr G faithfully follows God’s calling despite the obstacles he faces.

Julian & Rachel Bacon
BRUSSELS
Mission to the World

Julian and Rachel met at Seminary in the Netherlands and, along with MTW (Mission to the World), shared a vision to plant a Reformed, Christ-centered, Gospel church in Brussels, Belgium. Brussels is a multi-cultural city embracing a “post-Christian” secular culture. Only 1% of the population consider themselves “evangelical”, while 27% consider themselves “Atheist”. There is a strong need and opportunity for the message of Christ.

  • Hope International Presbyterian Church was founded to be a beacon of light, remaining true to Scripture and standing on a vibrant reformed theological base. It seeks to engage the community in vital worship and Christian fellowship. What began as an MTW church plant soon moved to “Mission Church” status, then to a “Particularized” church in June of 2025. There are now 2 Teaching Elders, 3 Ruling Elders, and a local student intern on staff. Hope has 45 members and 140+ consider the church to be their church home. The regular schedule includes Sunday worship services (in French and English), Sunday School, and 6 Bible studies. The church is now looking for larger space.

Manuel, Paula, Marco & Mayra Chacaguasay
ECUADOR
Rescate Ecuador

Manuel and Paula live and serve among the Quechua people in Ecuador. Manuel is the pastor of a local church that also runs programs for children, provides food, and connects the Quechua to social and medical services. The Quechua are marginalized in society and the Chacaguasay family ministers to them in many ways. Manuel is also an iterant pastor who ministers to several small villages high in the Andes Mountains.

Chuck & Debbie Emerson
SOUTH AMERICA & INDIA
Equipping Leaders International

Chuck and Debbie have been at ECPC since 1992, having moved from their native Pennsylvania. Chuck worked as an industrial engineer until a job layoff thrust them into full-time ministry in 2009. (God prepared them for this shift, as Chuck completed seminary with a mid-career educational leave of absence.) Chuck served on the ECPC Session until being ordained as a Teaching Elder in 2010.

  • The Emersons’ ministry has two prongs: (1) Overseas with Equipping Leaders International (ELI), training pastors abroad in Latin America and India : (2) Developing new areas of ELI involvement, especially in Latin America. Chuck works arranging and coordinating trips abroad, writing/editing curricula, and teaching in various venues in Latin America and India. As ELI’s Assistant Director of Operations and Partnership Coordinator, Chuck oversees ELI’s staff, development of additional curriculum, and translation of materials into local languages.

Debbie is a retired professional counselor and is now enjoying being a grandma and learning to play the dulcimer. She accompanies Chuck on his trips when time and circumstances permit.

The Emersons have 2 grown children, one in Denver and one in South Florida.

Dan & Rebecca Gregoire
Eliza, Mazzy, Hosanna, Zoya & Linzi
SLOVAKIA
Mission to the World

Dan and Rebecca Gregoire first came to Slovakia on a short-term mission trip in 2001. They returned in 2007 to begin serving full time, and currently live in Spišska Nova Ves, Slovakia, with six of their eight children. They serve with Mission to the world (MTW-PCA), working alongside Slovak missionaries pastors and the local denomination to plant more churches throughout Slovakia.

  • Each summer they help their church run an English camp. The camp serves the community, spreads the news of Jesus Christ, and provides an opportunity for supporting U.S. churches to send short-term missions teams. There is also an opportunity for a summer intern to work with the Gregoires.

Rebecca oversees a preschool program in two Roma communities. This provides employment for four Roma teachers and prepares Roma children for kindergarten in a Slovak school.

Dan serves as an elder in their local church and is a mentor to their Slovak pastor. He leads a team in strategy for future church planting and church growth, and is a fundraiser for God-sized projects. Dan also works with the Roma, commonly known as Gypsies, regularly preaching, encouraging, and discipling believers where poverty and oppression have existed for generations. Dan’s work among the Roma includes community development and poverty alleviation.

Dan and Rebecca strive to live missional lives, to be a bridge to bring Slovaks and Roma together into the community of believers to hear the Gospel and see it in practice. They are passionate about sharing their family life with others, opening their home up for hospitality many times a month. It is their hope that the next generation in Slovakia will know and worship the Lord as a body of believers.
