“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth..” - Ps. 46:10
Join us for Friday evening through Sunday morning of connection and rich teaching from our speaker, Sherry Lanier. The author of Psalm 46 reminds us of the nature and character of the one true God who is our refuge and strength in time of trouble! God Himself entreats us to ‘Be Still and Know.” Our study together will be a great time of encouragement as we consider our certain hope in an uncertain world.
Sherry Lanier
Sherry Lanier and her husband Steve reside in Brandon MS, which serves as ‘home base’ for their ministry of coming alongside pastors, church planters and missionaries with the goal of helping to keep them in ministry for the long haul. They helped start Redeemer Church PCA, an intentionally multi-cultural church in the heart of the deep south after serving for over 20 years on staff of Youth for Christ.
Sherry has a passion for God’s Word and communicating the hope of the gospel. She is a graduate of Belhaven University and attended RTS-Jackson. She has served as a Regional Advisor for PCA Women’s Ministry and as an Advisor to the Committee on Discipleship Ministries of the PCA. She and her husband currently serve as the mentoring couple for the MTW Thailand Team.
After volunteering in disaster response following Hurricane Katrina, she accepted a position on the staff of the PCA/Mission to North America Disaster Response Ministry, helping to coordinate the response of the PCA to all natural and manmade disasters in the US and Canada. (Her husband has nicknamed her “The Queen of Disaster.”)
Sherry’s greatest joy is ministering alongside her husband, hosting people in her home, and being ‘Momsie’ to her precious grandchildren!

Worship Theme Song
Be Still, Be Still My Soul (Psalm 46)
Be Still, Be Still My Soul (Psalm 46)
VERSE 1
Should mountains melt into the roaring oceans
The earth give way or heaven’s lights grow cold
O mighty God, You are my strong defender
Be still, be still, my soul
VERSE 2
When all I see are enemies before me
When unbelief and doubt have taken hold
O Lord of hosts, You promise to defeat them
Be still, be still, my soul
CHORUS 1
For You are God, I need not fear
You’re sovereign over all
For You are good and always near
I’ll rest in You alone
Be still, my soul
VERSE 3
Though all around the wicked seem to prosper
They mock Your name and rise against Your throne
O righteous Judge, their deeds You will remember
Be still, be still, my soul
CHORUS 2
For You are God, I need not fear
You’re sovereign over all
For You are good and always near
I’ll rest in You alone
For You are God, I need not fear
You’re sovereign over all
For You are good and always near
I’ll rest in You alone
Be still, my soul
VERSE 4
Though wars erupt, You will not leave us orphans
Though nations rage, You guard us as Your own
O, Prince of Peace, we will not be abandoned
Be still, be still, my soul
Be still, be still, my soul
