Gospel Kids is our Sunday morning program for students in PreK through 5th grade. We encourage our families to go to worship together at 10 a.m., and then children are given the opportunity to go to Gospel Kids during the offering (at about 10:20).
Gospel Kids uses a large group/small group format. Students in all grades start out together where they sing, participate in an activity designed to draw them into the lesson, and hear a Bible story. Next, they break into small groups by age/grade where they engage with their leaders, pray, think about, and discuss what they’ve learned through various activities and games.
Our curriculum is produced by New Life Press and is based on The Gospel Story Bible by Marty Machowski. Because all of our children (including our two and three year olds) are learning the same Bible story each week, follow-up for a family with young children of all ages is simplified. We encourage our families to check out two companion devotionals-- Long Story Short (Old Testament) and Old Story New (New Testament)-- which follow along with our Sunday morning lessons. Family devotions can connect with Sunday morning worship and can build on each other.
Gospel Kids is taught by one or two Large Group Leaders. Each small group is led by two Small Group leaders. These volunteers serve one month per quarter.
Check out our hallway bulletin board outside the Children’s Ministries office for information on small groups and pictures of our volunteers so that your child might quickly identify his or her leaders. (If your child sees the name of a school classmate or neighbor, please let us know. We love to match children up in their small groups so that we make them feel comfortable as quickly as possible.)
Planning to have your child attend Gospel Kids for the first time? Fill out our guest information form ahead of time and avoid having to complete the paper version on Sunday morning at the check in table.
